Wedding & Events

For formal events or bigger occasions (up to 120 people), Spoonful provides a popular ‘family-style’ banquet, or a more traditional ‘buffet’. Buffet and family style eating suits corporate lunches & dinners, family weddings or house private dining. 

Family style is perfect for bringing the ‘dinner party feel’ to your table. All the food is prepared then served to each table on beautiful platters. Guests help themselves to whatever they like from the comfort of their seats. This is fun, social and brings people together. Select up to 3 of your favourite main dishes, then pick your sides.

Buffets are also a fantastic way of having a beautiful lunch or dinner for larger groups. Spoonful’s buffets are generous and delicious. 

 

Below is just a sample of some of our favourite menu items. You may like to select this or we can write you a bespoke seasonal menu from the categories below. Take your time to perouse all our menus and select your favourite items for us to create your perfect event. We recommend selecting four canapés, up to three mains, three side dishes and a dessert. 

We take dietary requirements seriously so just let us know what these are and we will provide suitable items to cater for this. On occasion, we may add a surcharge depending on the level of extra work. 

The below sample menu is $120 a head, however, whatever your budget, Spoonful can provide the perfect food for your event!

Canapé

  • Tarragon, portobello mushroom & baby spinach pie (v)

  • Open top venison burger, caramelised red onion & Ohau goats blue cheese

  • Mini yorkshire pudding, smoked salmon & horseradish crème fraiche

  • Miso-glazed grilled eggplant on sweet potato (v)

Mains

  • Rosemary & dijon crusted fillet of beef served with a red wine jus & Montpelier butter (gf)

  • Preserved lemon & herb chicken brochette (free-range, gf)

  • Spoonful’s orange kumara gnocchi with baby peas, spinach and a lemon butter sauce (v)

Side dishes & salads

  • Hasselback potatoes with rosemary & garlic (v, gf)

  • Honey glazed baby carrots

  • Baby cos lettuce with dijon vinaigrette and toasted seeds

Dessert

  • Apple tart tatin with vanilla seed custard
